Getting Back on Track

29 Nov
The Monday after a long holiday weekend is always the hardest. I think Thanksgiving may be the worst, especially for me. After stuffing my face and downing some wine, I forced myself to get up the next day for Black Friday, which I am still deciding if it was worth it or not. It was my best friend’s birthday this weekend so after playing flip cup and beer pong with champagne, I work up this morning with a hangover from hell. I took two aspirin, ordered my Americano with an extra shot, and I’m back on track… for now.
Keeping with the hangover theme, I somehow agreed I would go to JET tonight for the “Industry Hangover” party. It always seems like a good idea when your four shots deep. I was planning on going anyways to view the best hangover pictures of people in the industry. Tomorrow and Wednesday I am going to work on getting back on the “nice list” for Christmas. Blush is having their 4th Annual Toy Drive to benefit the After-School All-Stars, a program that provides opportunities for underprivileged youth to participate in after-school and summer activities. On Wednesday, Surrender nightclub is doing the same. I just need to go shopping for a couple of unwrapped toys, which as the fortunate side effect of reminding me to use birth control. Before heading out on Tuesday, I’m going to gather the crew and head over to 3 Tomatoes and a Mozzarella for dinner. They are doing a one day special of “buy one item get one free” on their entire menu. You can print out your own coupon at to take advantage of this killer deal. Wednesday I’m going to pre-party at Blue Martini for ladies night because they are having free Saketinis from 7-10PM. Sake always gets me a little sassy so I’ll be ready when I head over to Surrender.
With December arriving, things tend to slow down for the holiday season in the city, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to do. Expect to see a lot of charity work that you can participate in, holiday parties you can drink at, and make sure to make your list and check it twice as it is the season of giving. Don’t forget to start making plans for New Year’s Eve as well, things book up fast in Vegas and you want to make sure you have a good spot to ring in 2012.
