Las Vegas is Full of Bull

9 Dec
Have you noticed over the past week that Vegas has seemed to be taken over by cowboys? Perhaps the stock of Budweiser, Jack Daniels, or Coors Light has been running unusually low in your bar. The lines outside the city’s country bars have gotten longer and the country music has gotten louder. The National Final Rodeo is in town and the last few rounds end this Saturday. Personally anything country related sends chills down my back. My bartending career started in good ‘ole Wisconsin where the jukebox was constantly playing “She Thinks My Tractor Sexy” and whatever the latest Shania Twain hit was. I would beg my friends to put a dollar in and play some Britney Spears (don’t judge me, I was 19!) I love Wisconsin, but you better believe it can be as “country” as they say. My senior year, the guys actually drove their tractors on the last day of school. Hence the reason for my sweet escape to Las Vegas as soon as I graduated college. However, whenever I’m feeling a little homesick, I can get a taste of the country mixed with Vegas in every corner of the city.
In support of the country scene, and those who are just interested in what it is like to ride bull, you can get some liquid courage at Town Square’s Cadillac Ranch. SpyOnVegas Open Bar is being featured there tonight with complementary Smirnoff Vodka from 7-10PM. Afterwards, you can continue down to Stoney’s where it is ladies night. Ladies get in for a buck and drink for a buck, but try not to get bucked off the mechanical bull there because they put you on their big screen for all to see. If you are interested in heading more North on the Strip, Blush nightclub is being hosted by Jack Daniels Master Distiller, Jeff Arnett. Friday night you should mosey on down to Gilley’s where the men can meet the Coors Light Girls and the women can be serenaded by Austin Law, the southern country-rock band singing live. Saturday the rodeo will be roping up the final winners and the cowboys will be out to play. Perhaps they will be at the new PBR Rockhouse at Planet Hollywood, maybe they will head downtown to the Las Vegas Country Saloon, or maybe they will forget about country and head to where I will be, Haze nightclub to see NE-YO for his album release party. I could be wrong, but I have to believe there is a little desire for every girl to find herself a cowboy, or maybe just for someone like me to live by the words of Kenny Chensey, “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy.”

Thx! Happy holidays & happy drinkin'!

You don't have to RSVP to open bar events unless there is an RSVP listed on our site under events. There will be an RSVP button, just click on that and follow the instructions 🙂
