This Weekend is Going to be Ugly

16 Dec
It is that time of the year… the city has slowed down, the nightclubs are feeling a little empty, the lines have gotten shorter, and maybe your tips have gotten a little lower. Visitors may be saving their pretty pennies for New Year’s or going home for the holidays, but they don’t know what they are missing. The slow season doesn’t get a party city down and there is still plenty to do for the locals with a lot more room to have fun. So find your skates, grab your ugly sweater, and buy a hot new dress because this weekend is packed with stuff to do and places to go.
Tonight is rolling in as the Down and Derby is back at the Joint. The party is featuring DJ Mike Snow and skates are available to rent. Get your cardio in to burn off those holiday cookies you have been eating… ok… I have been eating them too. For more information, you can check out their website, If skating isn’t your scene, have no fear, you have other options. Haze nightclub is having their 5th Annual Socialite party where the social butterflies of Las Vegas will be fluttering around. I’ll be there, since I made the list, naturally. Gold is having a pre-party from 10-midnight with complimentary holiday cocktails. If don’t feel like dressing up, grab your ugly sweater and head over to Tao for their Bad Santa Party where the ugliest sweater receives $1000. You can party all night long and wake up just in time for Brio’s Ugliest Sweater Party with SpyOnVegas Open Bar of Patron XO and Ultimate Vodka. You will be all nice and liquored up in time to see Dr. Hollywood at JET nightclub.
If you think your ugly sweater is actually hideous enough, then Saturday night you can show it off at the Silverton for their Hideous Holiday Sweater Party. There will be drink specials, contests including an eggnog chugging contest, and karaoke to make things really ugly. Afterwards, you can head down to Rain and join the EC Twins by taking off your sweater when they strip off their shirts. Sunday night The Bank along with is reviewing 2010 with pictures and unforgettable moments.
I am personally sad to see 2010 end, this year has been pretty good for me. I’ve met some amazing people, worked at amazing places, and have had some amazing good times. Perhaps that just means that 2011 is going to be even better… let the good times begin!
