Resolutions are Meant to be Broken

30 Dec

Two days left in 2010. I hope you have conditioned your liver for the upcoming weekend. I know I have. Notice I said “weekend” and not just New Year’s Eve. You may be thinking about going all out Friday night, but come Saturday and Sunday, you better grab an IV because parties are going down all weekend long with some very big names. I guess my New Year’s resolution of cutting back on drinking and getting healthy is going to have to start next week. Oh, who I am kidding? My body processes vodka better than water.

After getting your fill of live performances on New Year’s Eve, empty out your tank and head out again. On Saturday, LMFAO will be hanging out for an extra day at Palms when they perform at Rain Nightclub. Jason Derulo will be dancing his hangover off over at Vanity Nightclub, Bruno Mars is at Haze Nightclub, and his buddy Travie McCoy will be at The Bank. If you are more into DJs, have no fear because big names are scattered throughout the city. Tiesto begins his residency at The Joint, which is sure to be a stellar preview of what is to come throughout the year. Kaskade returns with the EC Twins at Marquee and fist pumping Pauly D is spinning over at JET Nightclub.

Sunday try to go easy on the Bloody Marys and beer during the football games because later that night JET nightclub is opening for a special event. Their new “Sundanze” is kicking off. It will be a monthly gay friendly dance event every first Sunday of the month. Presented by Eduardo Cordova, Kelly Rowland will be preforming and DJ Tracy Young will be spinning while 20 of the hottest gogo dancers dance to the beat. The Mirage is offering special room rates for the party so leave your keys up in the room and drink all you want. Ghostbar is also stepping into the Sunday scene with Trevor Simpson for the premiere event. Of course don’t forget Lavo is still continuing with Vice Sundays and The Bank with Industry Sundays featuring Calvin Harris this week.

However you decide to spend your holiday weekend make sure you play it safe. You don’t want to start off your New Year with a DUI especially by driving down the strip on NYE while it is closed. Trust me; it happens… a little too often. No matter, make your resolutions to break and ring in 2011 the best you possibly can.
