Show Me the Money!

13 Jan
In a time where the economy is still recovering, Vegas is helping out your pocket. As we come back into the “tourist” season, pools are getting ready to hire, new spots are opening, and some of the standards are looking at replacing the staff they have lost. It seems like every year this process comes earlier and with most jobs adding on “model” to their to the job title, it may be intimidating after packing on a little weight after the holidays. However, if you exceeded your budget for gifts and travel over the holiday season, now is the best time to refill your pockets.
Last year most of the pools started having open calls in February, but this year they are starting even earlier. It may be that each of them want the best of the best to staff and with so many options on places to work, it comes down to first come, first serve. Dust off your bikini, get a quick tan, and if needed, add an extra set of crunches to your work out. Encore Beach Club opened their hiring process last week. The large pool made an impact last season with its grand opening so you can expect it to make a strong comeback with a strong staff to back it up. You have to apply online at wynnjobs.com and then expect a call to “audition” sometime in the next few weeks.
Wet Republic was the leader in pool parties last year, but its hiring process may be the most difficult. Prepare to walk down the catwalk and answer questions in front of a panel of judges and crowd of onlookers. If chosen, it will be worth every penny. Open calls are being held at LAX January 18-21, 24-26 from 1-5PM.
Palms pool has announced its hiring process and hopefuls can go online at http://www.n9negroup.com/careers to apply. Palms is having their open call this Monday, January 17th, from 1-7PM.  For more information check it out under our event listing, http://www.spyonvegas.com/index.php?query=events/view/4430.
Nikki Beach, Miami’s premiere pool party, is coming to Las Vegas and taking over the Tropicana. It will have a dayclub, nightclub, and café and is currently hiring for all positions at https://www.hrapply.com/tropicanalv/Setup.app
Heading off the strip, but still a popular location is Cherry Pool at Red Rock. If you want to apply just head to https://stationcas.taleo.net/careersection/sc_sc/jobsearch.ftl?lang=en, type in pool, and submit your information. Other popular spots, Bare, Rehab, and the new Marquee Dayclub have yet to announce hire dates but expect to hear something soon because it is right around the corner.
If a pool isn’t want you’re looking for, Chateau Nightclub and the Sugar Factory, opening March in Paris, is looking to fully staff and you can apply at http://www.chateaunightclublv.com/. Some venues have lost staff due to new places and are looking to fill some spots. Tao Nightclub had open calls yesterday for cocktail servers and you can still apply. First Food and Bar is hiring servers and bartenders and you can drop your resume off in person at the Palazzo. If you want to apply at any Light Group venue, you have to do so in person, at their corporate headquarters on S Rainbow Blvd. A good spot to scoop out job listings is always on craigslist.com or check out indeed.com, which lists postings from all sites available.
Just remember to update your resume and most spots require a headshot or will take a picture on site. Confidence and persistence is key and good luck on the job hunt!
