Here Kitty Kitty…

I often wonder if the nightlife industry is a bit of a copycat. Everyone is always trying to trump another venue’s event. It seems that things always get booked on the same weekend so we are forced to make a decision between our favorite DJs and performers. People have to negotiate their time and stay out all weekend long to experience each and every event. Tourists may end up extending their stay and locals end up going to work hungover or just a little late. If they are lucky, they can say flights got strangely delayed or the traffic was really backed up. That is, of course, after finding an excuse to request time off to begin with. With the city back in full swing with conventions, there is plenty of entertainment for those weak explanations.
The 2011 Sexiest Server contest has officially launched (just in case you missed that before in my previous blog) and the events are lined up to meet the girls and cast your vote. If you don’t think you will be able to meet them in person or missed the awesome night at Blush last night, you can go to www.spyonvegas.com/sexiestserver and choose by shallow reasoning alone. If you will be around on Tuesday, January 25th you can mix and mingle with them at La Cave or shake your booty with them at Vanity Nightclub Sunday, January 30th.
If you are more into sexy DJs, the EC Twins are back in Las Vegas on Friday, January 21st at Marquee with Nathan Scott. I’m sure they will be removing their shirts sometime throughout the night. You know what they say… two is always better than one. I suppose that saying is pretty much accurate unless your name is Steve Aoki, who doesn’t need a partner to impress a crowd. His high energy performance will return also on January 21st at Surrender Nightclub. Sometimes those names may clash with your preference so you can head over to Rain Nightclub for Clash Fridays where Kill the Noise and Craze will be taking over.
The very next day, Saturday January 22nd you can return to Rain (or maybe you will still be there passed out on booth) to hear AVA recording artist, Andy Moor and Paul Harris from Dirty Vegas will be there the following week for Perfecto Saturdays. You can also catch Paul Harris at Ghostbar the very next day for Ghostbar Sundays.
The industry nights in Las Vegas are heating up as well as Marquee Nightclub has been featuring some killer DJs on Mondays for locals. On January 24th Kelis will be spinning and starting on January 31st DJ Redfoo from LMFAO takes over. I expect to see a lot of shots, shots, shots! Marquee will keep up with their big name DJs over next weekend as well with Benny Bennassi on Friday, January 28th and Steve Angello on Saturday, January 29th.
Some honorable mentions for next weekend include Thursday January, 27th at Tao where Carmen Electra will be judging the Tao-a-gogo annual contest. If you are looking for a little more culture (or a lot more) Hard Rock Hotel, Vegas SEVEN, and M Modern have teamed up to throw a mini “Coachella” with free admission to showcase the art and music of Shag, Chris Reccardi, Zoey Stevens, and friends. Hard Rock is even offering a 40% discount on its rooms that night. To attend or for more information, check out http://www.spyonvegas.com/index.php?query=events/view/4469. Saturday the performances come out at night where Wyclef takes center stage at Haze nightclub and Yolanda Be Cool will be “speaking no Americano.”
Like I already said, what one venue does another one seems to follow so you can expect to see more events coming about over the next week. Make sure you are checking out spyonvegas.com for up-to-date information and while there, don’t forget to vote!
