PD: Providence, RI

A21: How did you choose your DJ name?
PD: Simple. My first name, last initial.

A21: Describe your sound.
PD: I call it “The Bridge,” because I bridge the gap between dance music, hip-hop music and mainstream. My sound caters to all. I’ll make someone that’s not a fan of hip-hop like hip-hop and someone that’s not a fan of dance like dance, because I play it in such a way that I rock the party.

A21: Who are your influences?
PD: DJ AM, Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto

A21: Who would like to work with?
PD: David Guetta, Britney Spears, 50 Cent

A21: If you weren’t a DJ, what you would be doing?
PD: Learning to be a DJ.

A21: Is it hard to transition as a DJ from being on Jersey Shore?
PD: Yes, very hard, there are many skeptics, but I pride myself in proving to the world that I’m a talented DJ. “Point the biggest skeptic out and I’ll make him a believer,” like Drake said. I’ve been a DJ my whole life; Jersey Shore and MTV just gave me a bigger audience.

A21: Favorite spot to spin at?
PD: Rain Nightclub in Palms Casino Resort

A21: Favorite spot to party at in Las Vegas?
PD: Palms Pool

A21: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A21: Any advice for aspiring DJs?
PD: Practice, practice, practice! Don’t get discouraged and make sure to be yourself, develop your own unique style and stand out from the rest.

A21: The name your parents gave you?
SE: Chris Roberts

A21: Hometown:
SE: Los Angeles, CA, but raised in Chicago, IL.

A21: How did you choose your DJ name?
SE: My name was given to me in the early 90’s. I was always a tall skinny dude, but back then I had a huge head of hair. People said I looked like the character Fido Dido from the Sprite soft drink commercials. After that people started calling me “Kid Sprite.” I ended up changing the name to just Spryte, and it stuck ever since.

A21: Describe your sound.
SE: Growing up in Chicago I have a major house music background, but I also came up in the battle circuit which was heavily hip-hop influenced. Over the years I ended up combining my favorite parts of the different styles I’ve played over the years. So if I had to describe my sound, I would say I’m still open format but I definitely favor playing house and up-tempo. I also like to flavor up my sets with all my own custom edits and a dash of turntable skill.

A21: Who are your influences?
SE: I ‘ve had many influences over the years. Too many to name, but some of the major ones are DJ Precise, DJ Nonstop, Bad Boy Bill, Melo-D, Kevin Scott, and Babu.

A21: Who would you like to work with?
SE: I’ve been getting heavily in production lately. If I had the chance I’d love to work with Wolfgang Gartner, Diplo, Skrillex or Treasure Fingers.

A21: How long have you been spinning?
SE: I started dJing in junior high around 1992.

A21: What was your first gig?
SE: The first gig I ever did was an underground Chicago hard house party way back in the early 90’s. I was nervous as all hell, but it ended up being a great experience.

A21: If you weren’t a DJ, what you would be doing?
SE: I would be a Film/TV Editor. I actually do some freelance work already in this field when I’m not on the road.

A21: Favorite spot to spin at?
SE: This is a tough one, I would say Vegas or Western Canada.

A21: Favorite spot to party at in Las Vegas?
SE: Clash Fridays at Rain.

A21: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
SE: I definitely see myself in more of a producer role, but shows will always be where my heart is.

A21: Any advice for aspiring DJs?
SE: Try to come up with your own signature style, a lot of DJs sound to similar. Also put work into your marketing, unfortunately talent isn’t enough nowadays.

A21: Where can fans download or buy your music?

DJ Greg Lopez
Haze and JET Nightclub
twitter.com/djgreglopez
facebook.com/greglopez
djgreglopez.com

A21: The name your parents gave you?
GL: Gregory S ______

A21: Hometown:
GL: Fremont, CA ( Bay Area)

A21: How did you choose your DJ name?
GL: When I started on my first radio station the PD told me he loved my work, but my name was too boring. I had a fake ID that said “Greg Lopez”. I thought that sounded much better so I started using it.

A21: Describe your sound.
GL: I like to have many different types of sounds. I feel that I can transform into any type of DJ. For example, I can play hip hop like a hip hop DJ then play house like a house DJ.

A21: Who are your influences?
GL: I am influenced by DJs who aren’t trying really hard to be good, they just are.

A21: How long have you been spinning?
GL: I have playing for 16 years.

A21: What was your first gig?
GL: My first gig was an 18 and up club in my hometown, Fremont, called Mission Gardens. I got it right when I turned 18.

A21: If you weren’t a DJ, what you would be doing?
GL: I would be a drummer for a rock band.

A21: Favorite spot to spin at?
GL: Both Haze and Jet. They give you the proper tools to not only have a good set, but to put on a show for the people.

A21: Favorite spot to party at in Las Vegas?
GL: If I’m going out I will probably go to Haze. I just like the vibe of that club.

A21: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
GL: I see myself owning a nightclub.

A21: Any advice for aspiring DJs?
GL: My advice would be to work on being the best DJ you can possibly be. Go watch other DJs to see what works and what doesn’t work. Use that info to better yourself. Although marketing is important, be sure you have the talent and skills to back it up. One of my pet peeves are DJs that take fancy pics, have an awesome website, 80,000 twitter followers, tell you to go to wherever they are playing at. Then you go and watch them and they can barely mix two records together. Be sure you can deliver the productive you are bragging about. Everyone thinks they can be a DJ, but very few can do it well.

DJ Scotty Boy

soundcloud.com/djscottyboy

A21: The name your parents gave you?
SB: Scott Schroer

A21: Hometown:
SB: Los Angeles

A21: How did you choose your DJ name?
SB: I started out as Kid Gemini, but once I started playing more house, rock and alternative, a club owner at the time started calling me Scotty Boy. Said he hated Kid Gemini, said it made me sound ghetto, and he refused to put that on his flyers (LOL). Looking back, I agree!

A21: Describe your sound.
SB: I try to keep up with the future of dance music, I listen to a lot of what is going on overseas and what’s coming out next and try to mix that with what I know works here.

A21: Who are your influences?
SB: Too many to mention! I’m lucky that I have been able to become friends with a lot of my influences. I take a little bit from everyone and put into my sound.

A21: How long have you been spinning?
SB: This is my 24th year as a DJ!

A21: What was your first gig?
SB: My first fake gig was my 3rd grade Halloween Party. I was Jam Master Jay (RUN DMC) and I played music off my ghettoblaster. Then, my first paying gig was a house party in 8th grade then I started doing all my school dances by 9th grade.

A21: If you weren’t a DJ, what you would be doing?
SB: Wow, I have no idea. It’s a scary thought because it’s all I know. I would probably still be in radio.

A21: Favorite spot to spin at?
SB: Right now, Marquee Las Vegas

A21: Favorite spot to party at in Las Vegas?
SB: I love to bounce around from club to club when I go out to party. I have club A.D.D. (LOL). I can’t stay in one place too long.

A21: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
SB: Touring the world. I hope to have a bunch of hit singles out by then and I just want to get outside the U.S. and see the world.

A21: Any advice for aspiring DJs?
SB: Yeah, you can practice all you want, but playing is the best experience you can get. Don’t do it for the money, do it for the love of the music. Have you own sound and make as many people see and hear you as possible.

A21: Where can fans download or buy your music?
SB: You can find me on Beatport, iTines, beezo.net and most any other music download sites.

A21: How did you choose your DJ name?

A21: Describe your sound.
